Fashion Rumor Of The Day: A Big Shake-up At Gucci? - Yahoo News

By Merle Ginsberg 5 hours ago Content preferences Done It was a rumor that swept Europe this summer, but now Page Six is reporting that Gucci's top couple, CEO Patrizio di Marco and creative director Frida Giannini, who have a daughter together ,will exit their posts imminently. The Post also reports sales at the global brand have been stagnant, and Michele Sofisti, the CEO of Gucci's watches and jewelry division, left the company last week. In October, Gucci posted its weakest quarterly growth in four years, withoverexpansion in China being pointed to as one reason. Rumors abounded in Europe about this over the past summer, with names being floated as possible new Gucci creative directors. One name heard often and loudly was Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci, who has been considered one of fashion's top talents for years and, we hear, has been at least approached for the position.

Fashion films of the week: Fendi, Armani, Chloé - Yahoo News

And Style.com publisher Matt Rice, who once reported to Conde Nast president Bob Sauerberg, is now reporting to Vogue publisher Susan Plagemann, WWD said. Standen and Rice could not be reached for comment. Sources tell Media Ink that it was a decision by Wintour, who is artistic director for all Conde titles, to pull the plug on the magazine because she felt it replicated a lot of what the flagship was doing. Meanwhile, Conde CEO Charles Townsends released his state of the company year-end e-mail and conceded that 2014 was challenging. Figuring out exactly how challenging it was is hard to say, but it was clearly a down year. Sources say only two of the magazines reported ad-page gains: Conde Nast Traveler and Glamour. Web traffic is apparently surging and digital is approaching 20 percent of overall revenue.
